Screen Reel Terms of Use
These Terms of Use apply to Screen Reel. By installing or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
License
Apps and Fun grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Screen Reel for recording, editing, and exporting screen content. You may not redistribute, resell, or reverse engineer the app except where the law expressly permits it.
What the app does
Screen Reel records a display, a window, or an area of your screen, with optional system audio, microphone, webcam, and keystroke capture. Recordings become local projects where zooms, cursor rendering, captions, and other editing decisions stay editable, and results can be exported as MP4 video, GIF, or still frames. Existing MP4 files can be imported and edited as projects.
Screen Reel requires Windows 11 22H2 (build 22621) or later. Windows 10 is not supported.
Recording responsibly
You choose what Screen Reel captures, and you are responsible for the content of your recordings. Obtain any consent required by applicable law before recording other people, calls, meetings, or third-party content, and do not record material you are not authorized to capture. Keystroke capture is optional and can reveal what was typed; disable it in Settings when recording sensitive input.
Your projects and backups
Projects, exports, and downloaded models are stored locally in locations you control. Temporary, recovery, and rebuildable cache files may be replaced or removed during normal operation. You remain responsible for keeping appropriate backups and for confirming that an exported result suits your needs before deleting a project.
Free download and Screen Reel PRO
Screen Reel is free to download. Screen Reel PRO is an optional durable add-on offered through Microsoft Store as a one-time purchase — there are no subscriptions. Microsoft's purchase experience presents the current price and terms before confirmation, and a successful purchase unlocks the PRO experience described in the app for the Microsoft Store account that acquires the license.
Microsoft processes the transaction, payment method, applicable taxes, billing, and eligible refund requests under its own terms and policies. Apps and Fun does not receive your Store password or full payment-card details. Product availability and price may vary by market and Store account.
Availability
Screen Reel is distributed through Microsoft Store. Details on this page may be adjusted as the app changes; any material change will be described before it applies.
Third-party software
Video and audio encoding rely on media components included in Windows. Optional caption models (Whisper) are downloaded from their model host and are governed by their own licenses, and the app includes open-source components listed in its third-party notices. Microsoft Store and Windows are governed by their respective terms.
Warranty and liability
Screen Reel is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apps and Fun is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, data loss, or claims arising from the content of your recordings or their distribution.
Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
Changes
We may update these terms when the app changes. The revision date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
